"The Baron told her that only art meant anything."

It is true that I often lament the numerous gifts given to our library. Mostly because, well, they are numerous and not very exciting. I recently received a singular and very exciting gift. Well, I thought it was exciting. It is a first edition, although somewhat gnawed at the corners, of The Gilded Bat by Edward Gorey. Sigh. And yes, of course, I read it. It is Gorey in all his delightfully stark gothiness. So, my options are as follows:

a. Add it to the collection.
b. Decide that it is not appropriate for the collection and send it to the ever-growing booksale.
c. Decide that it is not appropriate for the collection and take it home!!

Oh, alright, fine. Option 'a' it is.

Yes, I realize that "gothiness" is not a word. I don't care.

Technically, I don't have to send it to the booksale, I can just buy it, but, sadly, it is appropriate for the collection. =( Damn professional code of ethics.
