It's odd to wake up in the middle of the night to find one's bed shaking. And it's even more odd to fall back asleep immediately. But that's what happened. So, I pretty much slept through my first earthquake. Damn it, I've been waiting for so long!

We had a fault line in our backyard growing up. During a rather large 'quake, the yard developed a slight "jog" in the terrain. I thought it was cool. We had earthquake drills in addition to fire drills in school. I thought earthquakes were really neat. One of my favorite phrases is "plate tectonics." Really.
Congrats on your first 'quake! Too bad you weren't awake for more of it.
Don't worry. I slept through the chaos of the bat in your house way back in the day, as well as sleeping through my basement being broken into while everyone else was up and all the lights were on. I guess I fall into that odd category right along with you.
I totally helped you kill that bat! It was under your bureau, remember? I didn't believe you because you've conditioned me to distrust everything you say, from years of torment!

Oh yes, the bat. I would have slept through that too, if Matt hadn't woken me up.
I woke you up and you didn't believe me!! I had to dispatch the damn thing all by myself!!!
